Here’s what an Employers Council Membership can do for you

Member Matters

Your organization is striving to take care of your employees and meet the needs of your clients and customers. You’re moving fast and doing great work! You know you have some human resources and employment law knowledge gaps — and possibly even blind spots. You also know there are lots of possible solutions out there, and you’ve been researching HR and employment law professional memberships. What can an Employers Council membership do for your organization?

The answer depends on your unique needs. Employers Council offers three membership tiers with infinite options for customization through our pay-as-you-go HR services, employment law services, benchmark survey data, and training and development solutions. As a non-member, you can hire Employers Council for most of those services (some, like California legal services, are reserved for members). But membership comes with transformational benefits and opportunities that can change your organization’s future. Let’s look at the three different types of membership and then dive into the details:

Core Membership

Great for both highly resourced and scrappy-at-the-moment organizations

There are two types of organizations that tend to choose the Core membership level, and they reside on opposite ends of the budget spectrum.

The first is larger companies that already have a robust human resources department and in-house counsel. They have a host of internal HR and legal resources at hand, but they need specific supplements, such as training, workplace investigations, California legal services, or compensation data. Member pricing saves them a significant amount of money on those needs, especially at their large scale.

Secondly, organizations that have budget limitations often find Core membership helpful. Whether they are just starting out or simply going through a lean period, scrappy HR departments can find a wide range of digital DIY solutions through our online resource library, hot topics newsletters, member community, and members-only opportunities (such as our Exceptional Workplace webinar series — free to members). Many members in this situation start with a Core Membership and then run into an issue that would benefit from consultation and upgrade to…

Consulting Membership

Popular with organizations who have small or no HR departments

Consulting Membership is our most popular level because it offers one-on-one consulting hours members can use for anything. Not sure how a new employment law will impact your organization? Call. Trying to decide if you need an HR audit? Call. Navigating a sensitive personnel issue? Yes, always, call.

Many Consulting members have no in-house human resources department. In small businesses, the owner may be taking on HR tasks. In small- to medium-sized organizations, the office manager or someone in accounts receivable may be handling human resources and employment law responsibilities alongside their other jobs.

Other Consulting members have one-person HR departments that are small, mighty, and overwhelmed. Their research time is limited, and they need a trusted team they can call to get quick answers and problem-solving partners. Having 200+ HR professionals and licensed employment law attorneys one phone call away is an invaluable resource for organizations without enough HR people power — in addition to all the benefits covered by the Core membership.

Enterprise Membership

An excellent choice for organizations that are growing quickly

Organizations who choose the Enterprise level recognize the value of unlimited consultation hours. Often, it’s the custom employee handbook benefit that is the first draw. HR departments who have yet to create their first handbook — or know they are due for a big overhaul — relish having Employers Council lead and execute that undertaking. Full access to compensation data is another selling point for Enterprise members who are striving to stay on top of a quickly changing and competitive job market

Enterprise membership is especially attractive to organizations going through intense growth periods. Good change can still be stressful, especially when increased staffing is involved. Enterprise Membership is an insurance policy with a guaranteed ROI: No matter what challenges arise, your team will be able to handle it with Employers Council on your side.
